GRAND FORKS, N.D. — North Dakota’s first drone flight training academy launched its online Remote Pilot Ground School Course on March 6.
SkySkopes Academy offers a self-paced, comprehensive course designed to give students the knowledge needed to pass the Federal Aviation Administration exam required for to receive their remote pilot certificate under Part 107. The course is interactive and includes quizzes, practice exams and additional resources to help students prepare effectively for their Part 107 test.
“Our online course is a necessity to anyone interested in flying drones,” SkySkopes Academy Founder Matt Dunlevy said. “It covers a variety of topics such as airspace types, flight principles and airport operations — information that is essential to operating drones safely.”
The online course is the first offered by SkySkopes Academy, with more classes set to start enrollment later this year. In-person flight training courses will open this summer and include basic and advanced offerings as well as tailored options that can be customized to the student’s background, occupation and goals.
